MELANIE ROBERTS - A talented mature vocalist with roots in smooth jazz, R&B and gospel.  Melanie flows from a rich alto to a soothing soprano.  In addition to studio work, Melanie is also an alumnus of Philadelphia’s Freedom Theater.  Among others, she has shared billings with Dexter Wansel, Jean Carne, Norman Connors, Bobby Lyle and Marion Meadows.  Some of her past performances include The Apollo Theater in Harlem NY; The Capital Jazz Fest & Westminster Presbyterian Church of the D.C. area; Two time performer for the Wadsworth Day Festival, Penns Landing, Temptations, Warmdaddy’s, Chris’ Jazz Café, Philadelphia, PA; The Blue Parrot, The Monday Club, The Savoy & Zanzibar all located in Wilmington, DE and numerous venues within the tri-state.  She is also currently a featured artist with various bands in the Philadelphia area.  

Melanie is a graduate of Lincoln University, located in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA.  She served on the local advisory committee of the Tavis Smiley Youth to Leaders program; volunteered for the Heroes Awards and GRAMMY in the Schools; both events for Philadelphia’s chapter of the  National Academy of Recording Arts and Science.  For more information on this artist, go to www.myspace.com/intro2melanie.
